Just wondering.

I burn all of my DivXs at 32X. Are there any benefits to burning slower; will the disc last longer if they are burned at slower speeds?

Depends on media(don't use cheap) and burner.

I am not having any luck burning at high or low speeds. I first started using "Imation" CD's at 32x but they turned out to be absolutely turd. It came out with scenes with strange colours, like they have been smeared. I then tried the same CD's at 8x, same problem.
I have even used Sonys at 8x but I still have the same problem, although not as frequent.

Nowadays, I use 4x re-writables from Verbatim, they rock!! no problems whatsoever and if I have... I just re-burn them :D

Hmm. I have been using Imations (700mb) and burning them at 32X without any problems whatsoever. My Drive is a LiteOn.

like mulder says: good media & burner. burning at highest speed won't degrade quality of the contents, unless you're overburning. good media will be taiyo yuden, shintaro, certain types of fujis and tdks, and good burner will be either lite-on, plextor or certain series of sony. for more info on burners and cdr/rw media go to club.cdfreaks.com - all your questions will be answered.
