View Full Version : MPEGs created and burnt but still a problem

To cut a long story short(ish)!...
I used DVDx coz i have a small 6GIG hard drive and most other methods result in large temp AVI files that i cant be doing with.
I have selected my settings and checked the compliancy for SVCD PAL (from a PAL DVD btw) and this said OK...in fact, i basically used the default settings except to create 21 volumes of whatever size rather than two files of 800MEG and one of about 400MEG which constitutes the film at the bit rate of 2376kbps...anyway...
I have Nero 5.5.8 with the rather kewl option to burn an SVCD. The folder options all appear the same on the left as a working SVCD (i.e with folders such as SVCD and ENT etc.) i already have, and the files all went over and burnt OK BUT my DVD standalone player doesnt recognise it as a SVCD but a normal VCD!
The track numbers are selectable, so i know they went over but nothing plays when i select the track and press play...the disc icon spins but the time doesnt go up :(
Also, and this is somewhat strange, windows doesnt allow me to look at the cd saying it is not accessible...there is an incorrect function.

Does anyone have any ideas about this? I managed to burn a VCD using easy cd 5 without half this much hassle (using DVDx again coincidentally) so it has me baffled!

Thanks
