Well, I've a bit of a problem...I want to retain all of the original menus, and only re-encode the main movie for Red Shadow (disc1)[there are no extras]. So, I do it all up nice and pretty in Maestro...replace the vobs and run IfoUpdate on the 2 .ifos...and it plays the movie great. It doesn't want to play the menus though, despite the vts_01_0.vob being the original file. I've heard this is because maestro's output .ifo is so vastly different from the original, it can't find all the original menus even after ifoupdate. Checking with ifoedit, this seems to be the case. Is there any way I can "fix" this without having to re-do the stuff in scenarist or something? I've also tried just using the original vts_01_0.ifo, and in WinDVD it works, though when I burned it something got silly and decided to play the vts_01_0.vob as a movie instead of menus...

Please help :)

this shouldn't be happening. After Ifoupdate u should have come up with a identical structured ifo containing the new pointers for your newly authored files. Is it by chance that u Ifoupdated the new ifo with the values from the original instead of the original ifo with the values from the new?

It's certainly possible, but I thought that the "original" and "new" spots made it pretty clear which was supposed to go where ;) Original on top, new in middle, backup of original on bottom...at least, that's how it appears in every guide and to my own common sense - I hadn't tried reversing this, to see what would happen. I wonder if it would fix it :) I ended up just using the original .ifo and etc. files, and it worked out fine. :)
