I have compressed "HEAT" and I gave it all the room it needed so the quality would be top notch. Now I have a file that's 1.51 GB and I dont know how to split it 3 ways. I can do it 2 ways with nandub like in the guides but not 3. Any suggestions?
Also When I test compress the first 5% it says in divx 3 codec but the actual compress is in divx 5, is this bad/can it be changed?
Thanks for all help

Welcome to the forum!

There's a tool you can use as a front end to Nandub: http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/SupportUtils/avisplit.zip

It can carve into 3 (or more) equally spaced files. Or, it can just give you start and end frames for use in Nandub so you can do it yourself.

I have no idea what you did wrong procedurally with Gknot, sorry.

Hi-

I'd suggest redoing it for 2 CDs. I don't really think you'll be able to tell the difference between 1.51GB and 1.38GB-it's less than a 10% reduction in size.

But, to split as many ways as you want-this is from Doom9's VDub Procedures Guide (http://www.doom9.org/virtualdub_procedures.htm):

Alternatively you can use the navigation controls to select the range directly. During these operations it's important that
whenever you move the slider you press down the Shift button on your keyboard which will make sure that your positions
are at a keyframe. Move the slider to the desired starting position, then press the Home button on your keyboard.
Then move the slider to the desired position and press the End button on your keyboard. Then save the movie (F7).
Now press Home again which will make the current position the start position and move your slider again
(while pressing down Shift, of course). Repeat the process until you have splitted the AVI into however many parts
you may want.
I agree with jggimi-the compress test question is tough. Are you sure you told it to do it in DivX3 and it was done in DivX5? Did you notice whether NanDub or VDub was used during the test?
