rempeg2 is there an alternative ?

I am trying to write a DVD disk but the ripped VOB's etc. come out to 4.5gig, Normally I use rempeg2 to reduce the size but this time I get an unknown format problem 95% of the way in to the movie,
Does anyone know of a different proggie that will shrink vobs or does anyone know of a different method of reducing my 4.5gig files down to say 4 gig ?

If it is 4.5 and you need to get it to 4.35 try chopping the credits off of the last VOB, run the title-set thru IfoEdit again. If still too big, open the first VOB in ReMpeg and remux back with VOBEdit, then IfoEdit.

My personnal feelings, is "forget Rempeg2".

try CCE plus scenarist (or Maestro) once at least. (trilight method, guide is CCE+ifoedit)

my moderator job is to tell you Rempeg2 is a good solution but that can be some issue with it sometimes and that you can do a search to find an answer (perhaps FAT32 limitation heu ? )

What does "displays a logo on each encoded file" mean when you use the free version of CCE? I started to dl it once but it failed and I never tried again. Sorry klona, I know that's an encoding question but the post is here.

use this after the final VIDEO_TS folder is created and then simply cut off the end credits. If you are that close this should work. and it only takes 5 minutes. But make sure you save the resulting vob into another directory to make sure it is at the right point and that the file size will do. once done simply copy that vob back into VIDEO_TS folder and overwrite the original vob

why would you even want to reduce this dvd anymore if your writer
supports 4.7gig disc (it will i know record up to 4.6 gig)
or even just put it in ifoedit(great program)and use the vob extras
button and select only the vob ids that the movie has to have and let
ifoedit do it,s thing by putting all the files in vts_01_1.vob thru
the number of vob files you have in your movie.
check mark the create new ifo and vts file and this will bust down
the movie to at least (1)gig

Ex----> you can take a (5)gig movie and bust it down to (4)gigs
and dvd,s are so cheap now you can use the split 2 dvd,s button.

DVD-R's only hold 4.3GB not 4.7, so if he's got 4.5GB he needs to come down a little. IFOEdit is a fantastic program but it won't always reduce a movie down to the desired level. CCE is another great program (although VERY $$$) and it works well with Scenarist, etc.
