ok i did do some searches, including but not limited to "divx fix download" etc but got nothing to help.
Basically i have downloaded a few movies from kazaa(i have long since found more reliable methods of aquiring rips, however i would rather not re-download these films if it can be avoided.
Basically some have indexing errors, for these i tend to open in vdub, reindex and rekey, and then save as a new avi, most of the time this works fine but on the odd occaision it causes serious desyncing. so question one is how do i deal with these files(mainly divx 4/5 with vbr mp3 audio)to stop the sync issues.
also i have some films (the man who wasn't there for example) that while a very nice rip stutters on playback, opening in vdub reveals nothing wrong with the file (indexing errors etc) and adjusting the post processing levels does not help. i am running a athlon 800 w/256meg ram on xp. i dont think its a lack of power issue as it does it on the same places every time regardless of whats running. hence question 2 - whats wrong with these ripsand how do i fix them.
Hope this is not too pain to cover again but as i say i could not find any obvious answers.
Many thanks
