Hi, i'm kind of new to the capturing scene. I've just done my first capture, and it turned out alright, but not as good as I hoped it would be. My input source is old VHS linked to a DVCAM player/recorder(sony-dsr11) that converts the vhs analog into digital DV signal and sends it through i.link and onto my hardrive. I then use sony's DV motion gate capturing program to capture the DV signal. During capturing sometimes I would get these small white horizontal thorny noises popping out sporadically through out the picture and also the picture sometimes get really bent and distorted. Both of these problems do not come up when i'm viewing the tapes on vhs deck, only when i'm capturing. Does anyone know why this occurs ? and are there anyway to cure it ? I've tried using denoize filters in virtualdub when encoding to divx. Also I'm considering buying a canopus ADVC-100 analog to digital converter. Can anyone comment on its quality when converting old vhs tapes ? side note: anyone seen "malicious" or in italian "malizia", it was made in the 60's or 70's i think?
