hello, I encoded a movie with gordianknot .26.1 and I have 2-cd 700mb set as my desired storage. I already have my oggs for the audio track, so i have the space reserved for audio. now it says it will use about 1900 kb data rate. When everything is done encoding, I get a video that's about 740 mb... this happened with two different videos. they should be around 1340 mb each. Why is the final size so screwy? I want to know why I am not getting anywhere close to my desired filesize. thanks for any replies!

This is just a guess, but....I assume you:
Are not using Compressibility tests, and...
Have not read this sticky from the DivX 5 encoding forum (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24584).
