Why can't my AC--3 audio stay in sync?

Okay, I'm taking an 18-minute DV avi, and running it through CCE 2.62 and creating an mpv file. I then pull the audio from the same avi using either VirtualDub or the Vegas Video NLE. I then use SoftEncode to encode the wav into AC-3. Using the mpv and AC-3 files, I create a vob file with DVD Wise.

When I play the vob, the first part of the 18 minutes is in sync, but the last part is off by perhaps 1/4th second. What gives?

If I create the MPEG2 video file using the MainConcept codec built into Vegas Video, the resulting vob is even further off. If I encode the audio into mp2 rather than ac3, the sync is perfect.

Found the problem--it's the vob builder in DVD Wise. Ironically, the vob builder in DVD Junior works fine...

Hey Richard Iredale....I was wondering can you send me a copy of DVD Wise and DVD Junior...I am desperately need that...I can't find it anywhere...I need it because I have vob files and I try demuxing and putting it back in Maestro, ReelDVD, and Scenartist...and the all have a sync problem..so i need a program that would just take in vob...so can you do it for me please...if not trading would be fine...
