star wars 1 ripping problem

I have a problem when ripping star wars episode 1.
It flickers and is a bit blocky.
i have read many posts on many forums about this problem
but no real sulutions.
any ideas.
I use
smart ripper/dvd decrypter/rempeg2/spruceup.
