"Features" rip

Hi, I used DVD Encrypter to rip just one part of a "Special-feature" (In this case - The Maralyn Manson video from "Not another teen movie) and created a sucessful IFO and Vob file, however when I use DVV2SVCD to encode these, a message comes up - "Cant find .vob file - please insert manually" and a box comes up. My problem is, there seems to be no way to actually get my created vob file into DVD2SVCD. . . any clues?

anyhow, if you've read the FAQ you'd know that no rippers but the included ones (internal routines and vstrip) are supported, and also that once you are using one of those, you should post a logfile when you experience problems. So for now, try the internal routines with the original DVD and see how that goes.

Yup, I sure have read the FAQ - and it does SUGGEST that the internal routines are the prefered method, BUT - I could'nt seem to get the internal rippers to grab just the files I wanted - only the main movie IFO. I have also had success in the past using this other ripper - only because it seems to give the option of grabbing ANY part of the disc, being MAIN MOVIE - or a selected feature.

In DVD2SVCD you can laod other ifo´s by choosing the "open folder" button in the conversion - tab (go to your DVD-Drive and then choose the VIDEO_TS - folder). At first play the Video you want to rip in a (software) DVD Player and look how long it takes. Then compare it with the time shown in the conversion - tab of DVD2SVCD under movie length, so you will know if you have the correct ifo.
By choosing the "disc" button, DVD2SVCD loads the biggest ifo file (mostly always the main movie).

You can go by the process winxi has given you or you can do the following:

Do as you do to rip any DVD by clicking on the CD DISK IMAGE on the conversion tab. When the DVD is authenticated and the conversion tab shows you the movie length, click on it to bring the CHAPTER selection window. In the window you will see that at the top the movie length is shown again and below it will be the chapters. Click on this movie length again to pick the feature (you should know the length of the feature as only time is shown here). Select that and you will see the chapters under that feature. Pick the chapters you want to encode and proceed as you do normally.

THANKS guys, great help! - These ideas work! - Also all I had to do with the other program was to RENAME the vob file to the correct name it was actually looking for!
