I have 2 movies that I have downloaded, both are of the quality that is worth saving, but in both cases the audio track is just to large. In both cases the audio is compressed, MP3 format. Is it possible to use Nandub to change the bitrate say from 160kps down nearer 128kps?

What do you mean too large? don't fit on 700MB discs? use 800MB discs if your burner accepts them!
If not, yes it is possible to reduce the bitrate at cost of the quality! you'll have to extract the soundtrack using AVI2WAV and then recompress to 128kbps using your favourite MP3 encoder (I prefer RazorLame), then mux the new 128k mp3 file with the original AVI.
