When I click on Capture Video in VirtualDub I get an error stating video device already in use. I am not using any video application. As of last week I was capturing video without problems. I re-installed my wdm drivers but it didn't help.

I am using win xp. I did last week install the panasonic dv codec.

could that be affecting it?

what else can i do?

I'm having this problem too. Has anybody else ever heard of this happening before??

Whenever I open VirtualDub, I get the message "video device already in use".... I tried removing processes in Windows XP, and removing any serveses I could think of under msconfig.exe

I have ATI TV Wonder VE and a Radeon 8500LE and both have drivers from ATI

Here's article of someone else with the same problem.... http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/archive/t155867.html

wah! How will I ever record my birthday party

VirtualDub isn't meant to work with WDM drivers. Use VirtualVCR.

I get the same problem with VirtualVCR, iuVCR demo, AVI_IO demo, Windows Encoder, Showshifter demo, FlyDS, WinDVR Demo, and Video Ghost.... And VirtualDubMod. DScaler works, but doesn't capture at 720x480x29.97.
