Easy way to code one VOB file? Troubles with Rempeg.

I demux using vobedit then try to reencode with rempeg with different options but the problems seems to be remuxing the .m2v file with the original vob with the .m2v and I get stutters that are unacceptable.

Any thought? Help? A better way? That is not time consuming in a way I mean a lot of interaction. A 1G file is the most I am looking to reencode to fit the files on one DVD-R. If it takes a few hours and comes out good great. As long as I don't have to change too many things.

Hello, you using the guide http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/Derrow/parttrans.html or similar right? If so maybe the stutters are problem of the cpu machine??? Tell us your specifications.:confused:

I am using an AMD 1.4GHZ processor with 512MB of ram with 7200rpm drive to do the editing. I play the .m2v file and they seem ok until I remux with the vob. The stutters seem to happen at every scene change. Weird?

I see the same problem. About 1 out of 10 movies will do this. When the scene's change a certain way (a black wipe, left to right for one) it causes ReMPEG to flip out.

Try only compressing 1 or 2 VOB's instead of the whole movie. Use VOBedit. Go to

Print and read the "transcoding" section and follow the directions and practice. VOBedit is a great program.

If the movie is huge and ReMPEG craps out, then your only option is to split it to 2 DVD's.
