ello erm ive split a avi file but now when i watch the second half the sound is out of sync with the pic, also ive noticed if i skip parts fast forward wen it plays its out of sync aswell anywhere along the movie but its fine if i i just let the uncut movie play it seems ok tho ,if anyone can give advice b appreciated thanks

Did you create the File with GKont? Did you cut your movie in Virtual Dub? If so thats your problem. Gknot creates VBR Mp3 files and Virtual Dub is incompatible with them. To do this correctly you should cut your movie in Nandub which supports VBR Mp3. Also what player are you using to view your movie? BS Player has problems with VBR Mp3 and fast forwarding.

yeh i did the split in nandub i used fareuse to get the avi but it had no sound so i did that in vob2audio and ive tried it in wmp and realone player

i had a similar problem with this on a rip i did once, turns out i had put the post processing up too high. perhaps give it a nudge down and see if that helps - perhaps you machine is on the lower end of the spectrum?
Not entirely sure on this but its worth a try.

Try to encode the Mp3 with Besweet and try to mux with your video again. That might also work.
