DVD-R cannot be paused, rewound, or forwarded

Hello all.

Long time reader, first time poster. :)

I've got the latest version of ifoEdit and generally have no problems backing up my STNG DVDs to 2 disks (2 episodes per).

However, I consistently end up with a copy that cannot be paused, rewound, or forwarded. I can stop the disk and restart (from the last point) but I cannot otherwise navigate within a given episode.

The menus all work correctly as advertised and I do not have this problem when I backup other movies - just my STNG collection.

FYI: I do make sure I Remove P-UPs. :)

Did you also make sure, IfoEdit is correcting VobU navigation pointers?

This forwarding,pausing, etc Problem is definatly a reason of incorrect VobU (Nav-Pack) pointers.
This happens as soon as you change something on the VOB files (i.e. stripping streams or VOB-IDs).

Unfortunately, I am not sure what this means. What step(s) need to be followed to do this? I'm game to try some things and document the steps to update the guide - assuming I am not doing something wrong in the first place. :)

He's talking about the option on the VOB Extras Option screen. There's a checkbox that's called Adjust Vob-Unit Pointers. Also when you're done stripping, make sure you always do a Get VTS sectors.

Hi All

I am having this same problem but only during the last chapter on the first dvd-r after a dvd split, all the other chapters I can pause, forward and rewind no problems.

As Default the Vob-Unit Pointers tick boxes is always selected, on mine it is anyway so surely this cannot be the problem, this is happening when I am spiliting Black Hawk Down R2.

PS:I have attached a .JPG of the directory structure of this DVD, VTS_02_0.IFO is the one I am opening in IFOedit and doing the DVD split.

Hope someone can help :confused: :confused: :confused:

PPS: Has a creation of the VIDEO_TS.IFO stopped working during a DVD split v.095?
