Hi,
made SVCD for the first time. took me 10 hours to make. :o When i was done, the cd had these folders, "Ext" "Extra" "Mpeg2" "Segment" "Svcd". I burned the .cue file with Nero5.8. Anywas, i also got powerDvd4 and WinDvd. Neither of them will play this svcd. When I select PowerDVD, it just freezes on me. Please help! :( What did i do wrong?
thanks

Read the DVD2SVCD Quick Guide and FAQ.

Also try the method given here

Try and be more descriptive with your title.
In the case something like "Please help with the burning of the svcd".
However you shouldn't need any more help then reading the quick guide and faq. It's a step by step guide for newer users.

Tip: Upgrade Nero.

Markrb, i dont need help burning svcd, its already burned, i just need to play it. However, I will just try to use CDRWIN to burn. Also, your FAQ kinda sucks, no offense. I mean, ur FAQ is in forum. I think u/admin need to make a seperate FAQ and Guide page. Cause i saw whole bunch of long help pages that didnt do me any good.

Sucks! Jeez aren't you an ungrateful bastard. So what if the FAQ is on a forum instead on some separate homepage. And what exactly is the problem with the FAQ, huh? Having difficulty reading english? Hard to search in? What?

And YES you do need help with burning since you can't play the SVCD.

   I am gratefull. Its just it took me like whole 2 days to make a vcd, and it still dont work. But thats ok, i will figure it out. Im sorry if it seemed that way, but i am gratefull and i think faq could look better and it would help a lot more if it was on the web page. Unless ofcourse ur running out of MB on the server.

animeal this forum is all volunteer as is the authors time for making the software. If you wish to create such a faq using your own time and effort go right ahead, but to put it blantantly if you don't, shut up. Lets see you put your money where your big mouth is.
Personally I have a life and barely had the time to write that guide. I saw a need and did the best I could with the time I had and I believe it has helped many get through the learning pains you are having.
If you are looking for a guide with pretty pictures check out the main doom9 page. It does not explain as much as it goes along, but it has those pretty pics. The two overlap somewhat, but the intention was to have them compliment each other.

You ask for help then insult the very people attempting to help you, good going.

Does the SVCD you burned play on your computer? If not you are having an issue somewhere. Check the cue/bin files using daemon tools and then check the original muxed.mpg files using PowerDVD or WinDVD.
