VFAPI creating the dummy .avi file

I loaded my .d2v from DVD2AVI and clicked on convert. I got the avi file but it wouldn't play in media player like the guide says it should. I made sure I ran proxyoff.reg and the vfapi.bat and now I can't load the .d2v file. I just get an error everytime I load the .d2v file in vfapi. any ideas?

All I had to do was recreate the file using DVD2AVI and VFAPI started to work again. Weird.
