For DERROW and MPUCODER: Suggestion on future modifications for IFOEDIT.

Thx for reading mods. There seems to be a trend on recent episodic dvds to have multiple ifo files controlling multiple episodes (for example anime).

Cowboy bebop which I just worked on, is a perfect example.

Unlike the more common structured dvd9s we see where there is a single ifo file controlling the entire movie file under one VTS

For example, VTS_01_1--->VTS_01_9

What we see in cowboy bebop is:

Episode 1) VTS_06_1--->VTS_06_X controlled by: VTS_06.ifo
Episode 2) VTS_07_1--->VTS_07_X VTS_07.ifo
Episode 3) VTS_16_1--->VTS_16_X VTS_16.ifo
Episode 4) VTS_17_1--->VTS_17_X VTS_17.ifo
Episode 5) VTS_18_1--->VTS_18_X VTS_18.ifo

Is there a way in the future that you can modify ifoedit so we can choose INTACT vobs for splitting?

For example, since cowboy bebop has VTS_01_X--->VTS_20_X

Have VTS_01--->VTS_10 on DISK1.

HAVE VTS_11--->VTS_20 on disk2

I'm not asking this out of simply laziness. I know that I can renumber these myself and split manually.

The BIG problem with this splitting procedure i mentioned about is on DISK2.

In cowboy bebop....there are extremely WEIRD jumps in between the episode vob files.

For example: Episode 1---->VOB 8 (ifo 8)---->Episode 2------BACK TO--->VOB 8 (ifo 8)---->EPISODE 3

So if i simply rename files, i will ALWAYS get an illegal navigation error because VOB8 will not be able to access EPISODE 2 or 3 which is renumbered.

Using some info that mpucoder gave, i went into VTS_PGCITI to modify commands so that I could skip DIRECTLY from episode to episode....unfortunately....my efforts are not working at the moment....

Anyway...the point of my writing is this.

Is it possible in the future to split intact VOB files and ifo files into separate 2 directories with everything renumbered?

I don't see the need here to split something with a program!

Why don't you simply put those VOBs and IFOs of one Episode/Title Set into a separate folder, copy the Video-manager files into it, and do a 'Get VTS Sectors' ?

Don't forget, that a DVD must have a TitleSet 1 too.
So simply copy VTS_01_0.IFO/BUP/VOB too, but without VTS_01_1-n.VOB.

If a kind of main menu for all episodes is in TitleSet 8, then simply do the same. Copy VTS_08_0.IFO/BUP/VOB without 08_1-n.VOB into your destination directory and you're done.

PS: There's also no need to rename any of the VOB files. If you rename something, but want to keep the original Menu, you'll always end in trouble!

Well derrow, I agree with you. Your logic follows well for the FIRST DISC only.

I can simply add all the necessary files that are needed and press get VTS and tada it's ok no problem and everything works fine.

The problem occurs on the 2nd disc.

From the menu when i press "PLAY" it will attempt to access the FIRST episode which is VOB#6 and IFO#6.

But the first epsiode I want to access is VOB#17, IFO#17.

Simply putting that in one folder with the main menu file and pressing GET VTS vectors will not do the trick b/c the menu will always want to access VOB#6 and IFO#6 which is not there.

That is the reason why i changed the name of VOB#17 to VOB#6 so the menu accesses a file which i want to.
