Is there any way you can hybernate during an encoding with G-knot/virtualdub? Like , pauzing it? If you set the process priority to idle, it still goes on.

the only thing I could think of is the suspension mode.. OK, it takes a couple of seconds more to get back to working status but it may just work. And I can't imagine a case where you'd want to stop encoding and not shut down the computer - after all idle priority means you'll get all the CPU power for other purposes whenever you need it.

What do you mean with suspension mode?
What i want to do is shut down the computer(with hybernate) and continue the next day.
Or can you do that without pausing the process, i haven't tried that, to be honest

 why don't you just try what you want to do (takes a few minutes for rebooting) instead of asking and tell us if it worked or not...

I do it all the time and I haven't had any problems with it (my computer is a few meters from my bed and it is quite noisy). Just press hibernate while you are encoding and it will go down. Just make sure you don't remove any harddrives or anything that the encoding uses and the boot up...

yes you're right I've tested it and it works perfect.

Just didn't think it was possible (should have tried I know).
