Try using vStrip - it will rip almost every DVD on this planet.
And if you want to know how to us it - check out great Doom9 guides...
take care

vstrip lost sync (not authenticated?) [@LBA 405531]
and Smartripper says:
VTS_12_0.BUP-> WIN_IO locked!
can this be anything?

I never have problem with this but have you try to authenticate your drive with a normal DVD player ? (WinDVD, PowerDVD...)
You can also give DVDDecrypter a try.
Or maybe your drive has a hardware problem ?
Or your DVD in not clean ?
Does it play normaly ?

If you use vStrip, then you need to authenticate your DVD drive by playing DVD movie with DVD player software, such as PowerDVD or WinDVD for a couple seconds. You don't need to authenticate if you use DVDDecrypter. I have no idea about SmartRipper though :p
