when I use dvd2svcd to make a svcd with 2 languages and 1 subtitles, my philips dvd623 only shows the movie with the first language. I can't change the language or use the subtitle.
I made a sample with svcd subtitles and cvd subtitles, neither of them works.
But when i use the svcd sample on VCDHELP.COM site with 2 languages and 1 subtitle it works!!! What could be the problem?
I burn the cd image (iso/cue) with NERO.
regards,
Luc

hi Luc,
you should post your log along with your question. When you say that languages/subtitles do not work does it mean that you cannot select them or can you select them and they do not work? Did you use chapters with PCB in your CD image? If you did try without.
cheers

It seems all Philips DVD players of the same firmware family (723, 623, 633, 743) suffer from the lack of support for selectable subtitles...
I tried every setting regarding to subtitles but couldn't get it to work. With the svcd sample from vcdhelp everything (PBC, still pictures, selectable languages) worked except the subtitles. I have a 723, firmware 4.22.70
:sly: cheers,

My brand new 743 (FW 4.23.14-2) shows selectable SVCD subtitles with PBC on......for about 3 minutes at a time!!! At bitrate peaks (over 3) it stutters. And VCD sound gets way out of sync every 3-4 minutes....
Anyone want to buy a 3 day brand new regionfree 743? :)
