we'll need more details.
How are you encoding the video, the audio?
Is the .mp2 file 2:22 or is it the full length?
If I recall correctly, Pearl Harbor comes with the movie on 2 discs. Are you editing the 2 videos into one? perhaps the second segment is droping the audio.

hi, im converting from dvd to vcd.im using smartripper 2.26, dvd2avi and finally tmpgenc. once ive got the film and sound files onto my hard drive if i check the audio on media player it will play upto 2hours 22min then states . 'the file format is invalid'with about 20min still remaining.
the film is on one disc, so is done all at once
i hope this extra info is of some help
cheers:p

Just to be clear, is it the .ac3 file that fails after 2:22? Are you demuxing the ac3 with smartripper or DVD2AVI?
You may want to try and rip it with DVDDecrypter, it's a bit more reliable. The only problems I have ever had with it are that it sometimes gives the incorrect a/v offset when demuxing audio. So I don't demux the audio with it, and let DVD2AVI demux when creating the .d2v file.
I'm not familiar with TMPEGenc, so can't be much help there.
