Hi there, I have a few questions that generally pertain to SVCD's, although my final goal is to create a complete dvd compliant movie.. so some of my questions might go outside of the SVCD topic..
First, I have an SVCD movie which is split into 3 discs. I want to join all discs together so I used TMPGEnc. It joined them, but when I looked at the result, at the first join the video appended as it should, but the audio was cut. About 15 seconds from the end of the first disc is cut and the audio for the 2nd disc begins, creating a huge sync problem. Any ideas why it did this?
Second, related to that, the person that created these discs must have noticed how the first disc ends in mid-sentence, so the 2nd disc starts with ~3 seconds of the end of the first disc. So I have a problem where a simple merge will not look nice.
Is there a program out there that will merge my mpegs nicely, and (going out on a limb here) be smart enough to know which frames match and where to begin the merge? If not, how about a program that I can use to edit the properly merged mpeg and cut out those extra frames to make the movie flow smoothly?
Third, my next process after I hopefully have a completely merge mpeg is to run it through DVD2AVI to demux the mp2 audio and create a D2V file. I then load the D2V file into CCE using Avisynth to resize to 720x480 and crop to convert from 4:3 to 16:9. Would anyone recommend an easier way to go about converting the video?
Last, this SVCD appears to have chapters created. Is there an easy way for me to extract these so that I can use them when I'm authoring the dvd?
I've completely authored the whole movie, everything looks and plays perfect through my standalone, just that damn mpeg merge screwed it all up :)
