I encoded Vanilla Sky a long time ago and the file size turned out a bit bigger than I wanted at 1.6gigs. I've long erased the .vob's and intermediate files and so am working entirely with a finished .avi. Anyway, I'd ike to get the file off of my hard drive and onto CD, but I'd like to re-encode it so that it'll fit onto two discs.

How do I demux the video and the audio. Using VDub, I've direct stream copied to get an audio-less video, but how do I go about demuxing the audio?

Save WAV... in the file-menu.

Hi!

If you're going to be using VirtualDub directly to recompress and split your .AVI, there should be no need to demultiplex it...

But in my case, Lame only works when the audio is first demuxed as wav using Virtualdub. In addition, I plan to work on large number of small clips.
