@DSPguru

Hi again. I have BeSweet v1.4RC8 and (latest) AC3Machine v0.4 installed. And I continuously get this (well-known ;) error message, though I have the latest visual basic run-time libraries (msvbvm60.dll, msvbvm50.dll) installed. (Using Windows XP.)

Any help would be appreciated ;).

best regards,
iago

when exactly do you get it ?
what do you do before it happens ?

Oh, DSPguru's lightning fast! ;)

Actually, whatever I try to do... When trying to show the path of BeSweet, or trying to select the input AC3 file, for example. Therefore, in fact, I cannot do anything! ;)

@DSPguru

Well, to be more accurate, vb runtime files are downloaded from http://www.milori.com/developer/runtimes/ a short while ago again ;), but still don't work. MSVBVM60.DLL is 23.08.2001 dated.

Hope the problem gets solved soon,
Kindest regards,

Does anyone else also get those "Run-time error '13': Type mismatch" when running AC3Machine v0.4 and e.g. trying to set the location of besweet.exe or loading and input ac3?

@sundance

Yep, unfortunately... And I guess it had been reported before here ;):

I don't have this prob sundance but for me the surround2 is not working. To be more specific, when you transcode an ac3 to a surround2 ac3, the transcoded file does not have sound :confused:. Also when you press the exit button, AC3MACHINE is not saving the settings into the registry. If i want to save the settings i must close it from the X button on the right up corner of the window.
:(

Thanks

@iago,
thanks for the hint; didn't scroll down enough...
But DSPguru is aware of it so we can rest assured ;-)

I've got the same error.

I get the error immidiately when i start AC3Machine.

When i clean the settings in the windows registry, it gets a bit further. The program loads and the gui is shown. But when i press anything i get the same error again. I've attached a screenshot.

I recently downloaded AC3Machine. As soon as I open an AC3 for input I get a "type mismatch error (13)" and the program ends.

Later added: I have XP Home edition.

For me its the same, i always get that error, when i try to open a file.
I tried on 2 different PCs, 1x win2k, 1x winxp home.
Also tried to install latest VB-Runtimes from M$, but it didn't help.

So whats that?

Well, Some time ago I got this same error and to avoid this I
Open Regedit goto: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DanniDin
and del all the keys even DanniDin, but I can't remenber if the
number of the error was the same :rolleyes:

Kyo i'm afraid those keys aren't relevant for AC3Machine.

BTW now you have to double click to open the dialog box..
single click for selecting inputfile, double click for selecting output file.

in case you ask yourself - why ?
well, in case of inputfile, in most cases - it exists, and then you can pick it, while as for outputfile, in most cases - it doesn't exist.

when i select 'pop up log file when finished' nothing pops up - why?

when i encode 384kbit ac3 the avg bitrate is reported as 383kbit, allthought ac3 is encoded in full frames and cbr (this due to ac3enc.dll-limitation), afaik. isnt it?

and even when i set the process priority to 'idle', the taskmanager tells me, that it is 'normal'.

i found out, that the task-priority isnt set correctly in about one of ten cases (maybe even more seldom!) - i will try to point out what the reason for this behaviour is.
