I used (on Win98) play whatever region with a software dvd player and dvd genie on my Creative dvd-rom dvd6240E player.
Since I've got XP installed it only plays one region (tyhe default one). There's only one region change left.
Q1: I always understood that this player was region free (it's an oldie)
Q2: Is there any way around this?

As I thought, it's not the player (that 1 is region free)but it's f**cking XP and only after I installed SP1. So be warned.
