There's a problem with XP.

The dll should be normaly located in the directory where IfoEdit.exe is located.
But XP doesn't find it somehow.

Since I don't use XP (I use W2k), I don't have a clue what's going wrong.

Derrow,

I bet jys29 problem is that Imgtool has not been installed. (It can be downloaded from VOB tools (show me more) and make sure it's installed in the same directory as Ifoedit.

I run Xp (Home Edition) and use Imgtool from time to time with no problems.

davepyne.

From your last thread, I'm assuming you did find the file.

Looking at the time difference of you 2 posts, have you had time to re boot you PC ? ABout the best I can think of at the moment.

What version of Ifoedit are you using ?

@dave: http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Vobtools/ImgTool_089_dll.zip , it's even named imgtool.dll so I have a hard time understanding why people can't locate it. Plus.. every ifoedit based guide links to it. Last but not least my suggestion is to use imgtool separately and not via ifoedit. Currently the external program is more straightforward and doesn't require you to enter certain things twice.

doom9:

downloading "imgtool" is not the problem. i run win xp and ifoedit canNOT find the "imglib.dll" EVEN if this dll (dynamic link library) is in the SAME directory as ifoedit!!! i already tried copying that file into \system\ and/or \system32\, but nothing... the only thing i can do is to directly run imgtool, ie. not using ifoedit to create an image, but the interface is a little bit cumbersome...

DirtyAbdul,

What version of Ifoedit do you use ? I use 0.91 and that seems to be OK for me. I am assuming from waht you have written, you can see the file in your Ifoedit directory.

One last point, how many levels down your file structure is the Ifoedit directory ??

I use winxp and from my standard directory (c:\temp) ifoedit has no problem fidnding the dll.
but the interface is a little bit cumbersome...
strikes me as a rather odd definition of cumbersome. When you use the dll you have to enter the disc name and destination/filename of the image twice, and the subst doesn't work when you use an NT based OS so you have to put the files into the root of a drive. When you use imgtool you have to press one more button (the make drive one) but don't have to enter the discname twice... personally I prefer 1 additional click over having to enter the discname and image location and name twice any day ;)

Plus... Derrow is looking for people willing to help him to create a burn DVD function and when that is done the whole argument will be moot anyway.

ok guys i got it. it works when i have imgtools installed directly in the ifo edit directory. btw, ssoac, that <http://www.dllstorage.com.ua/dll/I.html> dll file isn't the same size as the one i got with imgtools.
thanx for the help fellas,
Dave.

HomerJ:
it doesn't matter what version i use (currently 0.95 pre31). i even placed the file in the SAME directory as IfoEdit (drive e: ), but no go...

doom9:
maybe it works b/c you placed it in a "standard" directory (c:\temp). i remember the "old days" where certain progs would only accept "standard" directories :sly:. i'll try that out though, but right now, i'm trying to verify your theory about a too high audio bitrate that might crash IfoEdit pre 3.1 ;).

DirtyAbdul,

An interesting note from davepyne. Is he infering that the files are different, depending on where you download them from ?

Try re-downloading the files from the doom9 site.

The fact that you are running it from e:\ might have some bearing. I must confess, I'm old fashioned, I run it from c:\
