View Full Version : IFOEdit, Putting it All Back Together??

I have a 5.9GB DVD with 9 title sets I wish to shrink down to a single layer DVD. VTS 1 has 91 PGCs, to give you an idea of how complex this DVD is. The other VTS's are much more manageable.

This is what I have done so far:

1. Stripped the files to individual VOB ids using VOB Edit.
2. Re-encoded the VOD ids I wanted with CCE, and remuxed the audio and video with Scenarist. There are subtitles, but I don't need those, so I didn't rip them.
3. Used VOB Edit to join the VOB id files back together.
4. Copied original IFO files, and modified VOB files to one directory.
5. Used IFO Edit to correct VOB pointers and IFO tables in all modified VOB IFOs.
6. Used the Get VTS sectors to finalize everything.

In previewing the new DVD with Power DVD one of the menus seems be screwed up. When I go to it, it freezes. A few other things aren't working as they should.

Any ideas or items I should pursue? Did I miss a critical step above?

Thanks,

Chauncey

I did a little more research and found that after I process the VOB file pointers, I lose some VOB ids. For example, original IFO file:

PGC_10 (program chain): [Title(TTN): 1] [00:07:04.00 / 30 fps] (Programs: 2) (Cells: 2) (uses VOB-IDs: 23,74)
[Ch 17][Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C Id: 23/1] : time: 00:07:39.15 / 30 fps [Pos: 00:7:39.15] [Frames: 13785]
[Ch 68][Pg 02] [Cell 02] [V/C Id: 74/1]Layer Br.: time: 00:00:00.15 / 30 fps [Pos: 00:7:40.00] [Frames: 13800]

After I process the file:

PGC_10 (program chain): [Title(TTN): 1] [00:00:00.15 / 30 fps] (Programs: 1) (Cells: 1) (uses VOB-IDs: 74)
[Ch 60][Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C Id: 74/1] : time: 00:00:00.15 / 30 fps [Pos: 00:0:00.15] [Frames: 15]

As you can see VOB-ID 23 was removed from the PGC. Of the 8 VOB-IDs I re-encoded from VTS_01, only 1 of them remained in the processed IFO file.

Thanks in advance for everyones help.

OK, I'm learning here. In my Scenarist remuxed tracks, the VOB-ID is 1 rather than 23, so I believe this is why it disappears. Is there an easy way to edit this value in VOB Edit? It looks like I will have to goto each LBA and change it there, if I am to pursue this method.

Thanks,
