VOBedit and problems fast-forwarding

Hi,

I've been using VOBEdit for a little while, to take several seperate VOB files and create a single DVD out of them (source of VOB's might be several DVDs). But I'm having one consistant problem: I can't fast-forward them without problems. I can skip chapters, no problem. But I can't fast forward - it freezes or skips.

I know it's not a media issue, I've mastered it on DVD-RW's, and burned to DVD-R's - same results.

Here's my process, maybe I'm missing something:

1) Rename the vob files in sequence (VOB_001.VOB, VOB_002.VOB, etc.)

2) Open the first file in VOBEdit and then Join

3) The result will be a set of just joined VOB files. I startup IfoEdit and "Create IFOs"

4) Open the VTS_01_0.IFO file, do a "Get VTS sectors"

5) Make and image and burn.

Like I said, it looks great and if I don't click on fast forward, it plays all the way through.

Not again the same problem!

This is because the pointers in the VOB files aren't correct.
You need to correct them using IfoEdit.

To do so, use the Vob-Extras button, and do a strip streams, or strip VOB-IDs on the joined VOB files.
Even if you're not really want to strip a stream or Vob-ID, it must be done, cause then IfoEdit corrects all pointers in the VOB files and IFO file. Of course, you will select to keep all streams or VOB-IDs, so never mind using the stripping function over your joined VOB files.

And your problems will be gone.

Figured it had to be something simple I was missing.

Oh, one last question on the subject: Can I salvage the DVD's I've already burned? In other word, if I put the DVD contents back on my HD and re-run IfoEdit against the VOB files, will it fix the problem? The reason is I don't have the original DVD's anymore.
