I'm having a problem importing chapters to Maestro. This procedure does not include reencoding using CCE.

I used DVDDecrypter to copy 1/2 the chapters to a disk1 folder, then the other half to disk2 folder. I started to work on disk2 folder now.

Imported all video and audio assets (last 1/2 of the movie) into timelines OK.

Edited DVDDecryter's Maestro chapter file to delete the first half of the chapters.

Went to set an offset into the Maestro video timeline equal to the new first chapter's timecode value (ie. 01:10:30:10).

I do the import chapters function and Maestro says, 0 chapters imported.
Is there anything obvious I did wrong here??

PS. Does DVDDecrypter leave all timecodes intact or does it change it to start at zero if I rip from a chapter other than chapter 1?

Well I figured out the problems -

It seems DVDDecrypter does not keep the original video timecode if you rip from a chapter other than chapter one.

Also, the Maestro timecode offset function has nothing to do with importing chapter files. It's only for video/audio sync if required (audio ac3 track does not start at timecode zero).

So I reset the timecode offset to zero, used chapterXtractor to get the chapters and made chapter 24 equal to timecode zero using the offset function (entered value in milliseconds of chapter 24). Then I deleted chapters 1 to 23, then saved the file in Maestro format. Imported just fine into Maestro.

For audio/video sync,(looks like DVDDecrypter does not do any ac3 delay correction but does give you the delay value), I had to delay the video with respect to the audio by adding 'mikeathome' black .bmp picture to the timeline before the video, then drag the audio track to get them synced up. Worked perfect.

So, 2 things for DVDDecypter to improve -

1. Keep original timecode when ripping from a chapter other than chapter one.
2. Correct any ac3 track delay before saving it during the rip.

Here' a little NTSC timecode to milliseconds converter I just whipped up. It helps me.
