Encoding a VHS Capture

I have searched this forum for help with VHS to DVD conversions but am unable to find exactly what I am looking for.

I captured a vhs tape to my pc using the huffyuv codec. I would now like to encode the file as a SVCD compliant video using CCE 2.6 What filters/processes should I use to ensure I get the cleanest, sharpest picture possible?

I always use tmpenc for that (well i used to, i now have a dvd-recorder), VHS is never of a superb quality...
It's easy to use and has presets for that
Maybe that's an option ?
