Hi there.
I've used virtualdub 1.4.10 and virtualdub_sync on my old setup and never got any audio sync probs. On my new setup i have noticed that there is an audio delay, but usually only notice this on the final xvid (mp3 128 cbr audio) as the playback in vdub is too choppy to notice a small audio offset.
This was easily fixed by demuxing in nandub and remuxing the xvid and mp3 but setting the 'audio - interleaving - delay sudio track' to -300ms. This correction was constant for the 6 or so caps i had done and i remembered that i had read somewhere that this delay was default/recomended - but i have no idea where this came from, and i have searched the obvious places.
So for tonights capture of buffy from sky i will be setting this
-300ms offset before going into capture mode as tiny test caps show that this cures tha async at source, meaning you can set the delay back to the default of 0 for futher processing with vdub and/or nandub.
So i have several points for you to consider, is this due to my new setup (am i the only one with this problem), did i manage to mess up the defaults of vdub somehow, or is this just a well known issue?
