View Full Version : Doom9's DVD9->2 DVD5 wrong?

... a few questions on the updated DVD9->2 DVD5 guide. It differs from the older guide and derrow's guide in that:
1)It does not change the number of chapters on the VIDEO_TS.IFO files after the split
2) And it seems to imply that you need all the VTS_XY_0(.ifo's, .bud and .vob's), granted, these are small, but I thought that all each disk needed was the VIDOE_TS sets and VTS_01_0 set.
Which guide is right?

1) the new ifoedit makes that step unnecessary (that's mainly why I updated the guide).
2)I was under the impression that you cannot simply suppress a VTS set (the issue recently came up in another thread in this forum). I don't have anything to test right now.. let us know what you'll find out. Burn a project without those files on an RW, play around with the menus.. shouldn't take you long to verify if it works or not.

...the new guide sucks
j/k, actually I'm just pissed off because I've been having a serious case of bad luck. And I do NOT recomend that you trigger the 2nd disc to play automaticlly, at least not for now. Some DVD's (all I've tried actually) this causes the menu nav to get all screwed up, not allowing you access special features.
I just want to get a system going to quickly set up images to burn. Image tool seems really cluncky, I've been trying to burn directly from VIDEO_TS dir lately, not much luck.

I have the image creation process in imgtool set up within less than a minute.. don't see a problem there. It's safer to burn an image than a video_ts folder, that's for sure.
