avi2svcd Error please help

Okay everytime I convert a movie I get this error around halfway through. I just click ok and the movie finishes converting but it is a pain when leaving it on overnight only to have it stop till I press ok the next day at 50% or so.

you know i had this same problem when converting another movie of mine on avi2svcd...and it froze exactly at 50% and 75%. The thing was weird because the output was definitely ok. However i still was wondering what causes this error, because after encoding it again just to make sure everything was ok, i didn't receive the error that time.
any ideas? but i couldn't find anything wrong, just wondering what could cause this error that freezes the encoding process.

yeah i understand that...but after you press that button doesn't it finish? mine finished and the output was fine as far as i could tell

yeah it does finish and the output is fine (other than my inner battle between choosing widescreen or full, it seems the widescreen is very narrow) my problem is that I can not leave it on over night and have it be done in the morning, it gets to 25,50 or75% and freezes up then just sits there till I wake up to press the button for it to continue. So mainly what I am trying to say is I do not want to babysit it and would love to figure out why this happens every time so I can fix the problem?

Kind of a wild suggestion, but if you're fluent in any programming language (C++, Visual Basic, etc.) you could write yourself up a program to press the spacebar every X seconds after X amount of time. Sure, it's a rather unorthodox way of solving the problem, but it would solve it nonetheless :D

lol, good suggestion...if you know any java this script would be very easy to write..

in fact..if you want me to do it i can whip it up in like 5 mins, all you need is the java package installed tho..

however c,c++ would probably be easier but i don't know how to do that in those languages

try closing all applications( even the background ones) I have noticed that most virus scanners will lock a file during scan and refuse any other program to write or release the file.

may or may not help but i think it would be worth a try.

i don't think this is the problem. it seems to stop randomly during every quarter or so....like mine stalled at exactly 50% and 75% (2/4,3/4 way thru the encode)...same for him
