Anamorphic WS in Maestro?

Stupid question probably but...
When I author a DVD in Maestro I use "16:9 Letterbox".
Am I right in thinking this gives me anamorphic WS or should I be using the "16:9 LB/PS" option?
Can someone kindly explain the differences to me? :D

for animorphic you use either 16:9 letterbox, or 16:9 LB/PS, depending on whether your mpeg-2 contains pan/scan information. if it doesnt, just use 16:9 letterbox.

Is there a tool for checking if the MPEG2 stream contains Pan Scan info?
