let me explain my situation.

I have an anime dvd. each episode is 15 mins. Problem is each vob is 20 mins. so you get the main idea. i have to cut my subs and probably join them every now and then.

1)i used vobsub at first. ripped the subs. then i opened them in vdub. but it wont display anything. i tried with another sub file and found that there is no problem.( so my anime dvd subs might be faulty)

2)i tried subripper and it is even worst. the learning program asked me to input stuff that are in vertical lines.

eg:
from
help

the red box is around (m,p)-vertically. so how am i going to input m,p on a horizontal line?

3) i tried subrip. *the whole sub is 3h 45 mins long* although the learning program is better off, i spent 2h30mins just to get pass 25%
and i get the message

"this subtitle item cant be processed.
possible bad advanced ocr setup or none space between subtitile lines, or subtitle item coloir is changed(press change color in this case)"

almost 50%of the time. then i have to type in the whole sentence manually.(thats y it was so slow)

so thta about concludes my problem. can anyone tell me how to rip the subs properly?(as in not take up too mcuh of my time at the same time) and i also would like to know how do i cut .ssa files. i know vdub can input them but like in my case, i have to cut them up. vobsub just wont play back the subs no matter how many times i rerip. maybe i left something out. hope you guys hav enough info to help me

thanks in advance. ive really been stuk in thisone for days. plz help!!!
