hi guys
i'm a newbie here
i was wandering how long it would take to encode a svcd?
i tried it once, and it saved this file *.vaf it took 5 hours to do that. I thought after the 5 hours the film would of been done, but instead something else happened (don't know what) and my windo showed me that i had 26 hours left! am i doing something wrong? or is this how long it is suppose to take?

i used the dvdx method, and its taking 10 hours to save the vaf file, is this right? is there anything else that happens after this is saved? please let me know :) when will it actually save encode the movie :(

thanks you

Can you post your PC's spec? And also which softwares and the setting you used. Other members may understand more on your situation :)

that sounds like the estimated time i was getting when i tried to encode on a celeron 400 with 64meg.

and the vaf file is just a kind of a stat file used by cce when you perform a multipass encode (takes me only 2 hours on a p3/866 256meg)) . the real movie output will come out as a m2v or a mpg(if a program stream)

Roughly, in my case, VAF takes about 2 - 2.5 hrs and M2V about 9 - 11 (4 pass) hrs ;)
