Lion King

I have ripped an .AVI file from a VHS tape of this video. Is DVDSVCD something I can use to somehow encode it into mpeg 2 so I can burn it onto a disc and watch in my DVD player?
If not, any suggestions of what I need to do to get it to this point?
I realize perhaps this falls into the wrong forum, but this is the only program I have sucessfully enjoyed making SVCDs with =)
Any help appreciated.

Ever seen the little AVI option in the 'input file type' frame in the misc tab of DVD2SVCD?

Thanks for the AVI note, actually had no idea swapping the input type over would revamp the menu options to allow the source.

Now my neice can be happy, that was all this was about.

The post isn't a problem, it's just a little odd that you waited the 5 days after registering and then posting to find this out is all :)

In the future, just play around with stuff first, if that doesn't help, then do a search here. The last resort should be making a new post.

On the forums I moderate, I would completely agree.
And often I hate feeling like a total n00b in some areas.
However the question was more a 'can DVD2SVCD' do this vs a somebody please hold my hand. I had searched and read some stuff about flaskmpeg, but I wanted to stick to this program cause it has made me happy for other things.

Actually I registered for help on the Sopranos issues, the Lion King swap-a-roo just came about cause my niece is a huge Disney fan but since only the Chinese release of Lion King was on DVD I wanted to surprise her with something this weekend.

I'm glad you guys are a bit rough on the people from the start. Cause I'll learn my lessons, learn the tactics and be able to one day also shed some light on similar stuff.

All is well so far on the encode =)

After 2 tries I ended up with this same error. I looked in the directory and located a file, however it was zero bytes in size...
And it isn't finding the mpeg either.
The error is Unable to read from the file F:/movies/lionking/encoded_audio_1_mp2

Any thoughts why a working AVI would poop out at this stage?

Oh yah, and any idea even tho I turned unerase protection off in the recycle bin that DVD2SVCD still gives me that message? To my knowledge I am not running the protection anymore, so weird.

The original video framerate of 29.998 is not supported. The framerate will be adjusted!

The mp2 file is encoded audio file. If that file does not have any size then there is something going on when you are trying to convert the audio. Make sure that the audio that you are ripping from the AVI file is there and that it has a file size. Also post your BeSweet log file and lets see what that says.
