How to add flashes to video in Premiere?

Hey sup everyone!
I have gotten a music video shot in a club (with all the dancin & everyting). I want to add flashes to the video that will flash on the screen at certain points where I want to. I am using Premiere and also After Effect (Production Bundle). Can you please tell me how this can be done?
I'd appreciate your help. thanx in advance! :)

Perhaps by making a white video clip (Premiere has a feature for this, color matte I think it's called) or a white picture and just fading it in and out very quickly?

If you want a full-screen flash, then using a white clip is one of the right way. In premiere, just import or create some white footage and then fade it in and out with a total lengh of 6 frames.
If you need lighting spots in some areas that would be more camera-flash like then you'll have to use AEffect and find the way that suits you the best. There is no "factory-set" flash effect in AE...so search the web for tuts...
Since flashes can be created with particules effects maybe u can try Combustion 2.0.
