Good Idea?

How about a rating system for media and company that sells them.
For example:
Meritline dvdpro for .84c each 1-10.
something simple and short so people do not have to read through large threads to find out what the MAJORITY at large thinks about a spicific media and/or company? Instead have the votes average out themselves.

I don't think it is a good idea.

1st, discs with the same label can be made by different manufacturers
2nd, sometimes, problems are not caused by media but by other issues. A bad rating might therefore be without reason for it
3rd, e.g. Princo sends terrible crap to Germany, but seems to send at least *burnable* media to other countries. => makes rating complete nonsense
4th, some people would give bad ratings for too high price, which would mess up the vote.
