I'm trying to rip an extra from Monsters Inc called "For the Birds". It seesm to point to Title 3 Chapter 1. But every time i tried to rip it, I end up with "Mikes New Car".

The clip is only 3mins 15 secs long

Has anyone ripped this extra before. Any advice welcome.

By the way, I'm using Smartripper (2.41) & Ifoedit 0.91

Just search for a clip that is 3:15m long. I know DVD Dectrypter and SmartRipper show the times of each chapter.

I've tried that (with Smartripper anyway).

I always end up ripping "Mikes New Car"

However, I think I'll give DvdDecrypter a try, that might crack it.

Thanks for the suggestion

How did you rip the monsters inc movie.
I used dvddecrypter and smartripper. Dvddecrypter stops after 57%, Smartripper doesn't work at all?
Using Win XP

pipo,

I ripped using "Movie Only" mode. (Smartripper 2.41) Then (Get VTS sectors with Ifoedit) It was very straight forward.

Like you, I use XP.

Have you ripped any movies before ?

Yes I ripped a lot of movies before.

I read somewhere in this forum to install the nero aspi drivers (used adapter/xpinternal/elby/etc but that didn't help- still troubled at 57%). And this fixed the problem. :-)
Ripped the movie and all the extra's with dvddecrypter.

But thanx anyway. I'll try the movie option with the new drivers..

ps. Most of the time (the latest) Disney dvds give troubles...

pipo,

Sorry to read of your ripping problems. I have to say, I have never had a problem ripping a movie, the problems always come later (files to big, re encoding etc....)

I have read that Disney movies are a bitter harder than most, and I guess my experience goes to support arguement that as well.

Have you tried the "afterdawn" site ?

I believe the guy that wrote DVD Decrypter runs the Forum ( UK LIGHTNING)

From what I've read, he seem to know his stuff.

If it stops at 57% the disc may be dirty. Get a very clean cloth, and clean the surface. Make sure there are no fingerprints or scratches on it, and try to rip it again. It has worked for me in the past.

If you rip with dvd decrypter or smartripper in file mode "For the Birds" is the VTS_71_*.* files

Edit: Others of interst:
Mikes New Car=VTS_58
Outtakes=VTS_48
Trailers on 49 and 50

i just ripped it with gknot (smart ripper). the problem i encountered was with the extras. i couldn't get anything other than the behind the scenes. i've only done 4 movies, so i didn't bother trying to figure out how to get the other bits.
