Get pulldown.exe version .99d and then put that in your windows directory. From a command prompt run the commands to create the two files.

Go here and download the Pulldown.exe GUI. It makes things a lot easier http://guiguy.wminds.com/downloads/pulldownbatchfe/

go to Start and click on Programs if you dont see Command Prompt at the bottom then click on Accessaries Click on Command Prompt.
You will get a windows command prompt window. Now look at the directory that it shows you there. For example if it shows you "C:/Windows" then copy your pulldown.exe file there. (copy the file to wherever the directory that it shows you there) Then get your .mpv File and copy it there along with the pulldown.exe so that you have it in the same directory.

Now go back to that command prompt and type:

pulldown input.mpv output.m2v -prog_frames p

(Input= the name of your original mpv. file and output= the name your newly created .m2v file)

then type:

pulldown input.mpv output-drop.m2v –prog_frames p –drop_frame true

(Again Input= the name of your original mpv. file and output= the name your newly created .m2v file)

Once done you now have two .m2v files that you will be able to transfer to maestro for authoring the way the guide explains to. Once you are done with your DVD5 just go back and delete all .mpv and .m2v files but leave the pulldown.exe where it is.

Hope this helps!

You didn't put a space in between a couple of words. Type it like this:

pulldown(space)input.mpv(space)output.m2v(space)-prog_frames(space)p

and then:

pulldown(space)input.mpv(space)output-drop.m2v(space)–prog_frames(space)p(space)–drop_frame(space)true

Hope this clarifies!

let me know!!!!

Just follow the guide on http://www.doom9.org/mpg/maestro2.htm to the T, there is no way of explaining it simpler than Trilight has.

Man you cats are making something so simple into a pain in the ass...All you have to do is have the Pulldown exe stored in any directory on your drive and rite click on your desired source MPEG hit "Open With" then point to the *PullDown exe" easy as that.

Command lines, GUI'S come on it's simple.:D  :D

It seems this problem as been addressed rather well by those who have posted here. As lrosado mentioned, I really don't know an easier way of explaining pulldown than what I did in the guide. Any confusion should have been resolved by the information those who have posted here have supplied you with. Good luck!

Not trying to start a "fight" but last time I was around (9 months ago) we were using Rempeg which avoids the whole reauthoring part. Is there really a HUGE difference in quality between the CCE and Rempeg ?
cheers

In a word... YES! :) There truly is a huge difference. In fact, "huge" probably is not even a big enough word for the difference. More like phenomenal! ;)
