I am still new to SVCD. I am wondering if there is any way to make 5.1 channel sound for SVCD movies. If anyone knows, let me know.:)

SVCDS do support 5.1 audio if you encode using multichannel mpeg audio. You can use DVD2SVCD to do this or you can use the software philips released, its in the DVD2SVCD package. There is also some linux programs which can do this.
Unfortunately hardware support for this is extremely limited. Your reciever must support multichannel mpeg audio and your dvd player must have the ability to send this signal, which isn't exactly the type of thing they list in the manual. As far as I know the only dvd players which can do this are the Philips line.
There is a long thread in the audio forum. Check there for more info and some test files. If you get MC mpeg audio to work on your hardware setup post in that thread to let everyone know.
