Hello :)

I have serveral DivX avi files and I know DivX 5.0.2 Pro was used to encode them but I am wondering if there is a way to check the avi files to see what, if any, of the Pro features where used during the encode. You know stuff like b-frames and gmc etc.

So is there a way to do that and if so how do you do it?

Thanks in advance!

GMC and Q-Pel are impossible to determine as they are only used during encoding, they don't change the actual output file.

B-frames, theoretically, should be possible to determine, but AFAIK nothing exists yet that can do this.

you could detect b-frames by loading the avi in vdub and make a direct stream copy.

in the status window you can easily see if the movie uses b-frames as every second line ( each is the size of one frame ) is much smaller then the others.
