For a while now I havn`t been able to rip a dvd while using Windows XP without getting a blue screen (Kernal stack error).
I tried all the rippers and all were the same
So I decided to try Windows 2000 which worked fine.
Now after getting a new hard drive I have gone back to XP (which I prefer)and the problem is back.
Has anyone had anything similar or know how to cure the problem as it drives me nuts not been able to do any Divxing.
Cheers for any replies.

It sounds like there is an error with your setup. It seems a little strange that 'all' rippers would fail.
Could you give more details on when exactly the programs crash you machine? Obviously it's best from my point of view if you tell me how and when DVD Decrypter crashes.

I have tried Smartripper,DVD Decrypter and CladDVD XP and all start of ok, then when they get anywhere from three quarters to the end the mouse starts to go slow (that's when I`m there) and everything locks up and then the BSOD.
When I re boot the drive that I`m copying to is not even registering in the bios and I have to turn off completely.
I managed to rip Pearl harbour a vob at a time the other day and then I got the BSOD while it was encoding (that was the first time that had happened).
As I said before this only happens in XP, all the drives have been formatted and it is a clean install of XP with no other problems.
Its a bit of a weird one.

Dayvall,
This is obviously a serious problem. It can't be the applications, it has to be a problem with your PC (maybe over stating the obvious, but important to remember)
Do you run any utilities such as Nortons ? This might point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the reply, I already have Norton Utils 2002 installed and there is no problems at all.
I know there is nothing wrong with any of the programs mentioned but there is something that makes XP get upset while its ripping and I can`t figure it out.
Seems I`m gonna have to forget about any Divxing for now as I don`t
fancy re installing W2K (its a pain getting everything installed again after a re install).
Cheers
