Hey just a quicky on which the best encoder really is for doing divx 5 encoding i've used a few now mainly gknot which i think it pretty good but is one of the other ripers better then gknot even if it is more complicated that doesn't matter to me i'll work it out and learn how to use it if i allready don't if it will do a better quality rip for me :) any thoughts on this

It all depends...
Some people will like one better than other, some not.
The only way to find out what's best for you is to try it...
Gknot is a very good choice - and it's not an encoder. It's just a front-end for bunch of other cool proggies and it allows you to simplify some of the steps needed to do the conversion.
The real proggie standing behind all the encoding stuff is VirtualDub.
So, once again, try other ones and see what's best for you.
