Hey Peoplee

Im having trouble with my encoding, im working on an anime dvd, to sbc in nandub. The quality isnt to bad, but the picture isnt that clear, and i got told their is also macroblocking, and im not quite sure what that means or how to go about fixing it. I used anti shit in nandub, setting of 16 and 1 0%, i trying using smoothers and that but still no go.

The way im ripping is with avs files. I have a clip on my website, so please copy and paste the url and help me fix my problem.

Ive seen that a few people have read the message but havent replied. Please help, im an encoder and need help solving this problem.

Hi-

I can't figure how to get the thing to my hard drive so I could get such information as resolution or bit rate. But judging from the noise, it's looks like too low of a bit rate for the resolution (could be in the source, though). However, there aren't any macroblocks on that sample (perhaps in scenes with more action), just the usual iDCT blocks which look worse in dark scenes such as the one you showed. That's common with all iDCT based codecs such as DivX3.11, DivX5.02, or XviD. However, the others are better than DivX3.11, with less of those moving blocks.

To improve it, I'd disable Luma Correction, lower the resolution, or increase the bit rate. But there's only so much you can do.
