Using Markrb's "new personal settings recommendation" and following the Advanced guide advice for deinterlace settings (Field-only@10, no denoise) the results were less than satisfying. :( The bitrate I used was ~1650 (I wanted 2 CDs, so sue me) and there was the annoying "flies" effect around every moving objects in the picture (especially people, off course).
What do you guys do when you have interlaced source? Or is this problem not caused by deinterlacing? Still, I'd like to know some "optimal" settings for the interlaced source case. Thanks for any help!
On a slightly different note, when I preview a still before encoding, I don't see any visible effects on the image when I fiddle with the different settings. Actually, only TS has an effect when I check/uncheck it. Is it me or...?
