:stupid: Can anyone tell me if it's better to rip a movie on CD-R's or DVD-R's? Which one has more time? (other than 80 min?) DVD-R's here are expensive!

Depends on a few things:

1. what quality are you looking for? CDR only holds 700mb avi or 800mb mpeg. You can use multiple CDRs though. A DVD holds 4.7gb.

2. do you actually own a dvd burner? you realize that a cd/rw cannot burn DVDs.

Thanks for the reply!! I'm ripping movies on my computer with CD-R's now, using 2 disks. What I was wondering was if I could use DVD-R's on the computer. I thought that DVD-R's had more time on them so that I didn't have to use 2 CD-R disks! Is that posssible?? :stupid:

P.S. Shows you how "new " I am!:stupid:

Hey JayCee you should really look at the cd's as in mb not in time a normall cd holds 700MB so your riping your movies to 2 of them equaling 1400MB in size the movie being and a dvd cd is 4.7gig (4700MB) so of course you could get your movie on the one cd you could really fit 3 movies done at the same quality on that one dvd cd so thats 6 normall cd's onto that 1 dvd cd but as Mac Sidewinder said you have to have a dvd burner as well to be able to burn them you can't burn them on your normall cd+rw burner so if you do actually have a dvd burner then you should do it that way and be able to get a few movies onto that one cd if not then just keep on doing it the way you are 1 movie to 2 normall cd's :D
hope that helps and makes more sense for you
